Privacy Policy
This policy explains what happens to information when you use noisemeterforclass.com. In short: there are no accounts, the microphone is never recorded, and analytics only run if you accept them.
Who we are
Hush Habitat (noisemeterforclass.com) is an independent educational website. For any privacy question, use the contact form.
What information is used
- Microphone. When you choose "Start with microphone", your browser asks permission. The sound is measured live on your device to move the meter. It is not recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
- Settings and history. Your settings, class name, session history and collected animals are saved in your browser's local storage on your own device. We cannot see them.
- Analytics. If you click Accept on the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to see aggregate use of the site. See the cookie policy.
- Contact form. If you write to us, we receive your email address and message through our form provider, Formspree, and use them only to reply.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard technical data (such as IP address) to deliver and protect the site.
Legal basis (UK GDPR)
Analytics cookies are used only with your consent. Hosting and security processing relies on our legitimate interest in running a secure website. Replying to messages relies on our legitimate interest in answering you.
Advertising
We may display advertising in future to keep the site free. If we do, advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, and this will be controlled through the cookie banner. We will update this page before ads are added.
Children
Hush Habitat is used by teachers on a classroom display. It has no accounts and does not ask for personal details. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Under UK data-protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to processing, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Contact us through the contact form.
Retention
Messages are kept only as long as needed to reply. Analytics data is held under Google's standard retention settings for the site.
